MANAGERS NEEDED

COACHES needed... We are in need of a few coaches for each division. If you have any questions, please contact League Head Coach- Please complete the attached Interest Form.

Coaches Meeting  TBA

LHGSA is looking for volunteers to coach our young athletes for all divisions: 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U. Coaches are essential to the games.  Coaches not only teach our athletes foundational skills essential to success on the diamond - coaches create the environment necessary for our athletes to develop self confidence and core principles of teamwork and good sportsmanship essential to success in life. Our young athletes will quickly become part of your "family." It is our goal to provide you with all necessary tools, resources, and education. Understand the most important tools you already possess - patience, compassion, and dedication. Consider being a coach and submit a Manager's application.

SNACK BAR COMMITMENT

The snack bar allows the league to earn money that enables us to keep our fees low and to help purchase equipment, maintain our fields, pay umpires, and keep the field lights on for evening practices.

Parents/Guardians are obligated to work up to two shifts in the snack bar for each player during the season.  Siblings may fulfill this obligation if they are 16 or over.

Please note that each team has volunteer needs for: assistant coach, team parent, dugout parent, field prep, score keeping, etc.  These team volunteer positions help your player's team and are separate from the Snack Bar commitment.

Each player will have the option to BUY OUT but must be done in advance so the league can find coverage.  If families do not work a shift, families will be charged no show fee and players will not be able to play until fees are paid. Players will not be able to register for the upcoming season until fee is paid.

FRIEND REQUESTS

LHGSA softball league operate under a draft system. For this reason, it is not possible to accommodate friend requests with the exception of the two circumstances outlined below.   However, you will find that one of the best parts of recreational softball is all the new lifelong friends your player will find on the team she ends up on.

Friend requests MAY be allowed for the following two circumstances, no guarantees.

  • 6U player
  • Sisters

Friend request is allowed and please note that if multiple girls request the same friend, it will not be possible to honor all the requests.  We will do the best we can but cannot guarantee placement with the requested friend.

ADULT VOLUNTEERS

All adults who work directly with players must register submit a background check form on an annual basis (August through July) and complete Safe Sport online training as provided by USA Softball.  LHGSA pays the fees associated with background checks and Safe Sport training for up to a total of 3 adults per team.
